What does ‘high quality ingredients’ mean? 

At Rêve, quality isn't just a buzzword—it’s the foundation of every shell and ganache. It means we use super-fine, non-GMO California almond flour, organic eggs, and high-fat European-style butter. Our chocolate is sourced from premier producers Cacao Adventures and Cacao Barry, and our fillings are made with real fruit purées and Tahitian vanilla beans rather than artificial extracts or shelf-stable shortcuts. You can taste the difference in the depth of flavor and the clean finish.

Are the macarons authentic? 

Absolutely. We honor the heritage of French pastry by following the traditional French Méthode using a stable Italian meringue base. This process requires a precise and masterful macaronnage (folding technique) to achieve the hallmark of a true artisan macaron: a perfectly smooth, domed shell and dainty, ruffled "feet."

Our macarons offer the classic, sought-after contrast that defines the authentic French macaron experience: a delicate, slightly crisp exterior that yields to a soft, chewy, and flavor-dense center. We never take shortcuts or use pre-made mixes; we are dedicated to the slow, meticulous craft of the traditional patisserie.

What do we discuss on the consultation call? 

The consultation is where we transition from "inspiration" to "execution." Our goal is to ensure your Rêve experience is seamless and perfectly tailored to your event. During our 15–20 minute call, we will cover:

  • Your Vision: The overall aesthetic, color palette, and "vibe" of your event (e.g., modern minimalist, classic French romance, or vibrant coastal).
  • Flavor Selection: Matching your flavor profile to your taste, menu or seasonal preferences.
  • Quantity & Display: Finalizing the guest count and deciding between a striking tower display, individual favors, or a curated dessert table.
  • Logistics: Confirming the delivery window, setup requirements at your venue, and any coordination needed with your event planner or florist.
What additional costs can I expect?

We believe in "no-surprises" pricing. Beyond the cost of the macarons themselves, the following variables may influence your final investment:

Delivery & Setup

Starting at $50 within 20 miles of Santa Barbara. This includes professional transport in a climate-controlled vehicle and on-site styling of your tower or display. 

Artistry Fees

A fee for custom color matching or bespoke flavor development to cover the additional R&D and specialized ingredients.

Tower Security Deposit

For clients using our acrylic, wood or silver towers, a refundable deposit is required. This is fully returned once the tower is returned to our studio in its original condition.

Rush Orders

For orders placed within 10 days of the event, a rush fee may apply to prioritize your production and secure expedited shipping if necessary.

How do they ship if not local to Santa Barbara, CA?

We provide nationwide macaron shipping to ensure that Rêve can be part of your celebration anywhere in the U.S. To guarantee your luxury dessert favors arrive in peak condition, we utilize Express Shipping exclusively. We ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to prevent your delicate order from sitting in a transit facility over the weekend, ensuring a "bakery-fresh" arrival at your doorstep.

How can you ensure my macarons are fresh and intact when shipped?

We have engineered a "macaron suit of armor" to protect your investment. Each macaron is nestled into custom-fit, recessed trays that prevent movement and breakage during transit. To maintain the perfect texture and temperature, we use insulated packaging and frozen gel packs. This climate-controlled environment ensures your macarons arrive tasting exactly as they do in our Santa Barbara kitchen: crisp, chewy, and fresh.

What does self-assembly entail?

To ensure your macaron tower arrives in pristine condition, we ship the macarons and the tower tiers disassembled. Assembly is a simple, 10–15 minute process:

  1. Stack the lightweight, secure tiers.
  2. Place the macarons onto the tiers starting from the bottom up.
  3. Style your display: Feel free to tuck in fresh floral elements or place the finished tower on your favorite cake stand for added height. This method ensures no shells are cracked during the journey and allows you to add your own creative touch!
Can you deliver more than 20 miles from Santa Barbara, CA?

Our standard local macaron delivery covers the greater Santa Barbara area. For events beyond 20 miles—including Ojai, Ventura, and Santa Ynez—a long-distance delivery fee applies based on mileage. For large-scale weddings and corporate events requiring professional on-site setup, please contact us directly to coordinate logistics.

Are your macarons gluten-free?

Yes! Because our shells are made with 100% California almond flour, our entire collection is naturally gluten-free. While we are not a certified GF facility, we take great care to ensure our ingredients remain pure. It is the perfect gluten-free gift for those with a refined palate.

Do I need to be home to receive the delivery? 

Because our macarons are shipped with cooling packs, we recommend retrieving the package as soon as possible after delivery. If you are sending this as a gift, it is a great idea to let the recipient know a "perishable luxury" is on the way so they can tuck them into the fridge!
